How to get to Woking Palace

Please note that apart from Open Days, access to Woking Palace is restricted to organised visits - for example, school groups and local history societies.

Find out when you can visit the site - Open Days.

There is no parking at Woking Palace itself or along the narrow private road (Carters Lane) leading to it.

Access to the site is by foot only (about 1 mile from Old Woking). Park in the large FREE car park behind the short stay tarmac car park at the mini roundabout in Old Woking.

From the car park visitors on Open Days can follow the waymarked route to the Palace, a level stroll of under 1 mile. Look out for the red arrows on a white background which mark the route.

There are no facilities or parking at the site, or along Carters Lane, which is a private road. Disabled visitors should contact the Friends of Woking Palace on 07722 299026.

During the day from Monday to Saturday routes 462/463 and 562 provide an almost half hourly service to Old Woking High Street from Woking Town Centre. There are no buses on Sundays. You are advised to check bus timetables particularly the times of buses back to the Town Centre.
