Information for Schools

The Friends of Woking Palace publish an Education Pack for schools wishing to learn more about Woking Palace and the Tudor period. If your school is interested in the Pack and in visiting the site, please click Education Pack, below, for details. The Pack includes full information of how to arrange a visit and the cost.

We are particularly anxious that all young people living in the area are aware of this important part of their local heritage.

Interested and participating schools are free to download the pdf file if they wish.

The Lightbox, Woking

The Lightbox has developed a Tudor themed activity workshop for schools. This involves a guided object handling session in the Woking’s Story gallery at The Lightbox and a creative hands on workshop in the Education Studio, where visitors will get to take home what they make. There is also a Tudor Tableware loan box which is available to schools and colleges. The box includes reproduction objects with a music cassette, recipe book, teachers’ notes and suggestions for activities.

For further information on the activity workshop or loan box, please contact: The Lightbox, Chobham Road, Woking, Surrey GU21 4AA. Tel. 01483 737815 Fax. 01483 764369 Email. education@thelightbox.org.uk. The Lightbox makes a small charge for these services.
